Dr. Benson joined the LCHC team in November of 2018. He earned his Bachelor’s degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Ball State University, and completed his general practice residency at Ohio State. He practiced in rural Eastern Oregon from 1999 to 2012. He then practiced at Oregon Health and Science University from 2012-2018, where he served as Assistant Professor and Associate Dean of Hospital Dental Services.
During his time at OHSU he developed the General Practice Residency Program that trains dentists to treat and manage patients with special needs and significant medical complexity. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentistry, International College of Dentistry, and Pierre Fauchard Academy. He served as the Oregon Dental Association President from 2006-2007. He has a special interest in community, and integrative health. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their dog, Frannie, plus fishing, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and running.
