Dr. Sara Haack is a clinical psychiatrist with a specialized focus on integrated care, which involves the delivery of mental health services within a primary care setting. Since 2018, she has provided expertise as a psychiatric consultant to the Lāna‘i Community Health Center (LCHC), primarily through telehealth services. In January 2024, Dr. Haack took on the role of Medical Director at LCHC, where she continues to lead and innovate in the delivery of healthcare.
Dr. Haack’s educational background includes a medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and a Master of Public Health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her psychiatry residency and an integrated care fellowship at the University of Washington, further solidifying her expertise in her field.
Before her current roles, Dr. Haack served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine. There, she was actively involved in a variety of integrated care initiatives within both mental health and primary care settings. In addition to her roles at LCHC, Dr. Haack currently practices general psychiatry in a private practice based in Oahu, where she treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Haack is dedicated to her family, with whom she enjoys spending her free time. She is an avid fan of NPR Tiny Desk Concerts, finding relaxation and inspiration in the intimate live music performances. Additionally, Dr. Haack loves to embark on outdoor adventures with her children, exploring and experiencing the natural beauty of Hawai‘i.
