Lion Dance embraces the beauty, art, culture, traditions, and history of China. Good performances are believed to bring good luck and happiness to all. Frequently seen during the Lunar New year, the Lion Dance can also be seen other times of the year — in the community, schools, and corporate gatherings, to name a few. Although the Lion Dance encompasses Kung Fu and Tai Chi, it places an emphasis on teamwork. Performers will learn to better coordinate their movements with each other and the drummer/musician. They will be able to mimic the mystical animals’ emotions and gestures (angry, sleepy, and excited to name a few) to tell a great story. All are invited to participant and take part in upcoming performances throughout the year.
