Melinda “Mindy” Bolo’s commitment to health, fitness, and community service is deeply rooted in her upbringing on the island of Lāna’i. A 2004 graduate of Lana’i High and Elementary School (LHES), Mindy’s educational pursuits led her to Texas, where she earned a degree in Biblical Theology. This academic foundation has been a guiding force throughout her diverse experiences across the United States.
Mindy’s journey has taken her to various states, including Oregon, where her involvement with CrossFit rekindled her passion for group exercise and coaching. This rediscovered passion propelled her to become a certified Group Fitness and Silver Sneakers Instructor, blending her love for fitness with her innate desire to help others.
In her role as Community Education and Wellness Coordinator, Mindy plays a pivotal role in the Lāna’i community. She teaches Physical Education classes at LHES, inspiring youth to lead healthy, active lives. Additionally, she leads senior fitness classes at the senior center and conducts functional fitness classes at the Lanai Community Health Center (LCHC), aligning with the center’s goal to foster health and wellness.
Mindy’s dedication to her community extends beyond her professional duties. She is actively involved in her church, coordinates outreach events, and participates in community activities. Her personal life is filled with the joy of her two dogs, who accompany her on life’s journey as cherished family members.
