Welcome to Lāna`i Community Health Center

The Lāna'i Community Health Center's mission is to take care of the community of Lānai by directly providing health services (primary care, dental, behavioral health, and selected specialty services) to the community, providing activities and services through partnerships with local organizations as well as the many off-island organizations reaching out to Lānai by serving as coordinator, advocate, resource, initiator, and convener; and working collaboratively to provide space for partners who can provide needed services for Lāna'i.

Chelsea Kahananui

Born and raised in the serene surroundings of Nanakuli on the island of Oahu, Chelsea Kahananui grew up with a deep-seated love for animals, which initially led her to dream of a career in veterinary medicine. Her educational journey began at Lana’i High & Elementary School, where she graduated in 2011. Chelsea’s commitment to education did not stop there; she is currently advancing her knowledge in the healthcare field through studies at Penn Foster College.

Chelsea’s professional path has led her to the vital role of Patient Account Representative. Her choice to enter the healthcare industry was fueled by a strong desire to give back to her community, a commitment she fulfills daily through her work at the Lanai Community Health Center. Her role allows her to be at the forefront of ensuring that patients receive compassionate and efficient service, which is a cornerstone of community health.

As a Native Hawaiian, Chelsea’s life is intricately woven with the threads of her cultural heritage. She has been an active participant in hula dancing and singing since the age of 8, embracing these art forms not only as personal passions but also as means to celebrate and perpetuate her culture. Chelsea’s dedication to sharing her heritage through music and dance is a testament to her love for her roots and her community.

In her personal life, Chelsea is a devoted mother to her young son, Haize, who is the light of her life. Her role as a mother is one she values above all, as it shapes her daily life and aspirations.

Chelsea also finds solace and joy in her favorite hobby, drawing and painting. Through her art, she expresses her innermost feelings and thoughts, finding a sense of peace in the creative process.

Chelsea’s life experiences have been enriched by her time living in diverse locales, from the islands of Oahu and Lanai to the contrasting environment of Nevada. Each place has left an
