The Lāna'i Community Health Center’s mission is to take care of the community of Lāna`i by directly providing health services (primary care, dental, behavioral health and selected specialty services) to the community; providing activities and services through partnerships with local organizations as well as the many off-island organizations reaching out to Lāna`i by serving as coordinator, advocate, resource, initiator, and convener;
and working collaboratively to provide space for partners who can provide needed services for Lāna`i.

Cindylou Figuerres, MBA

Cindylou’s career at the Lanai Community Health Center (LCHC) is a testament to her remarkable professional growth and unwavering dedication. Since her start in 2011 as an Accounting Clerk/Front Desk Supervisor, she has rapidly climbed the ranks, showcasing her expertise in Finance, Accounting, and Information Technology. By September 2012, Cindylou had risen to the role of Chief Financial Officer/IT Director, reflecting her proficiency and leadership skills. She has served as the Interim Executive Director, guiding the organization through a pivotal period from June 2023 to July 2024.  Cindy will use her knowledge and expertise as the Financial and Programs Coordinator to use financial management knowledge to perform cost analyses, prepare budget reports evaluate current budget trends, and assist the Executive Director (ED) and CFO with program development and implementation. This position advises LCHC Leadership team on potential financial and programmatic decisions in alignment with LCHC goals and mission.

Her academic achievements are equally notable. Cindylou’s educational foundation includes an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Heald Business College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Hawai’i Pacific University. Her pursuit of lifelong learning led her to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2015.

Cindylou’s exceptional abilities and dedication were recognized when she was promoted to Associate Executive Director in August 2018. In this key leadership role, she has continued to affirm her commitment to LCHC and the Lāna’i community—a place she calls home.

As a native of Lāna’i, Cindylou is deeply committed to the health and wellness of her community. She plays a crucial role in providing educational classes and workforce development training, contributing to the enrichment and empowerment of Lāna’i’s residents. Her leadership is vital in propelling LCHC forward as a beacon of support and progress.

Cindylou’s journey is marked by passion, leadership, and a deep-rooted dedication to community service. Her invaluable contributions to LCHC and her inspirational presence make her an essential figure within the organization and the broader community.
