Welcome to Lāna`i Community Health Center

The Lāna'i Community Health Center’s mission is to take care of the community of Lāna`i by directly providing health services (primary care, dental, behavioral health and selected specialty services) to the community; providing activities and services through partnerships with local organizations as well as the many off-island organizations reaching out to Lāna`i by serving as coordinator, advocate, resource, initiator, and convener;
and working collaboratively to provide space for partners who can provide needed services for Lāna`i.

Cori Takesue, PsyD, CTTS

Dr. Cori Takesue, Psy.D., CTTS is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She joined Lāna‘i Community Health Center in February 2014 and in August 2020, became the health center’s Director of Behavioral Health. Dr. Takesue received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling: Marriage and Family Therapy emphasis at Argosy University-Honolulu and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University –San Francisco Campus. She was born and raised on the island of Oahu.

Dr. Takesue’s clinical training was primarily spent in the San Francisco Bay area providing individual psychotherapy and psycho educational groups while working in a variety of treatment settings: partial to inpatient hospitalization, outpatient, schools, community mental health, and in forensic and correctional settings. Her interests include: health psychology and helping individuals with chronic health conditions focus on making lifestyle changes, serious mental illness, tobacco cessation, and working with at-risk adolescent youth. In her leisure time, Dr. Takesue enjoys being in the outdoors, whether it is hiking, biking, climbing, or some beach activity.
