The Lāna'i Community Health Center’s mission is to take care of the community of Lāna`i by directly providing health services (primary care, dental, behavioral health and selected specialty services) to the community; providing activities and services through partnerships with local organizations as well as the many off-island organizations reaching out to Lāna`i by serving as coordinator, advocate, resource, initiator, and convener;
and working collaboratively to provide space for partners who can provide needed services for Lāna`i.

Cori Takesue, PsyD

A post-doctoral psychology fellow, Cori Takesue joined the Health Center’s team in February 2014. Dr. Takesue received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Argosy University-Honolulu and her degree in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University-San Francisco Campus. Although born and raised on the island of Oahu, she spent most of her training in the San Francisco Bay area.

Dr. Takesue’s professional experience is focused on providing short-term individual and group therapy and psycho-educational groups, working with serious mental illness, substance abuse and dependence, aging and long-term care, chronically medically ill, end-of-life issues, and the at-risk older adult population. Dr. Takesue has worked in various treatment settings: partial to inpatient hospitalization, outpatient, schools, community mental health, and in forensic and correctional settings.
