Dr. Kam, who joined LCHC in February 2016 as Dental Director, also provides dental services at the Health Center. A graduate of Punahou School, Dr. Kam earned his degree in Biochemistry in UCLA and his dental degree from UCSF in 1985. After completing his Residency in Hospital Dentistry at San Francisco General Hospital, he practiced dentistry in Honolulu from 1986 until 2015. In 1988, he earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2011. Dr. Kam is also a Lua and La`au Lapa`au practitioner. He has studied the Hawai’ian language since November of 2014 in the Kealaleo Hawai’ian Language Immersion Program. Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Kam is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys preparing (and eating) Hawai’ian food. He and his wife Lesley have two grown children, a Dalmatian, and a red and white Irish Setter.
