Randall YM Kam, DDS, FAGD, FICD

Dr. Kam is a dedicated dental professional who has been a valuable member of the LCHC team since February 2016. Providing a range of dental services at the Health Center, Dr. Kam brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient care.

A proud alumnus of Punahou School, Dr. Kam pursued higher education on the mainland, earning his degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He continued his academic journey at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he obtained his dental degree in 1985.

Following his formal education, Dr. Kam completed a rigorous Residency in Hospital Dentistry at San Francisco General Hospital. His professional career in dentistry began in Honolulu, where he practiced from 1986 until 2015, establishing a reputation for excellence and compassionate care.

In recognition of his professional achievements, Dr. Kam earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1988, a testament to his commitment to ongoing education and mastery of dental skills. His excellence in the field was further acknowledged in 2011 when he was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, an honor reserved for those who have made significant contributions to the profession.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Kam is deeply rooted in his cultural heritage as a Lua and La`au Lapa`au practitioner. His dedication to the Hawai’ian culture is evident in his ongoing study of the Hawai’ian language, which he has pursued since November 2014 through the Kealaleo Hawai’ian Language Immersion Program.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Kam’s connection to his homeland is reflected in his personal interests. An avid hunter and fisherman, he not only enjoys the outdoors but also takes pleasure in preparing and savoring traditional Hawai’ian cuisine.

Family is central to Dr. Kam’s life. He and his wife Lesley are the proud parents of two grown children. Their family is completed by their beloved pets, a Dalmatian and a red and white Irish Setter, who bring joy and energy to their home.
